WJW Goes Sketching

On a recent summer Friday afternoon, members of the WJW staff spent a lunch break flexing their urban sketching muscles at Ward (A. Montgomery) Park, just a quick walk away from the office. Overlooking the Chicago River, the park presented a scenic opportunity to sketch many interesting aspects of the city’s architectural details, including great views of ornate bridges and buildings in the downtown loop.

More than just a break from the work day, this sketching session was a reminder to take a closer look at the forms that surround us and give thought to how both historical and modern architectural elements shape the way we live and move through the world.
