Liezel joined WJW in 2016. She received a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies, with a Minor in Sociology, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Previously, she worked with a Chicago-based architecture firm on adaptive reuse and new projects for local small businesses, non-profits, and homeowners. She is interested in urban design, sustainability, community development, and their intersections.
As an advocate of socially responsible design and development, she has worked with a variety of non-profit organizations including CriticalProductive, the Archive Institute, Habitat for Humanity, and food.empowerment.design. In her spare time, she enjoys discovering new places, crafting, and volunteering.
